The Motor Classic was the best show ever!
On our Coast Village Road field, there were 170 cars and Motor cycles including those from the Checker Flag 200, a membership arm of the Peterson Museum.
The Car Guy, Steve Ford used his golf cart to interview several car owners with Honoree Ed "Isky" Iskenderian. After the interview of 95 year old Ed Isky Iskanderian about his involvement in the early days of Hot Rodding, the Trophy Presentation Ceremony began. In total, over 50 trophies were given in 14 car classes plus 4 Motorcycle.

2016 Highlights Slideshow (below)
We want to thank gallery-owner, Marjorie Layden, who hosted a special event, CARS, which features the art of three well-known local artists and photographers: Jesse Alexander, Dan Hogan, and Mark Stehrenberger. The exhibition will be featured in the gallery from September 24 through October 7th, 2016. A proceed of all sales will be donated to the Santa Barbara Police Foundation. Scott and Michelle featured, of Gautier on State Street, featured some great car-related jewelry. They offered a pair of beautiful gold French cuff links for auction. Thank you Michelle for your generosity!
A special private opening reception was held on September 23, 2016 at The Gallery Montecito which featured car related art and photography and was attended by all three featured artists, as well as organizers and patrons of the Montecito Motor Classic. Guests were treated to hors d’ouevres on the adjacent patio at Lucky’s Restaurant, as well as award-winning wines from Rarus Winery, which is owned by gallery-owner Marjorie Layden. Maria Mertens is the curator for the Cars Exhibition.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE "FUN WITH THE FORCE' FUNDRAISER
WE'VE JOINED UP WITH "FUN WITH THE FORCE 2015 EVENT!
What a great turnout to support our local police.
The creme de la creme of local restaurants and wineries were represented at the Fun With The Force 2016 event. There was so much food, drinks and lots of fun! Celebrities, dignitaries and all the beautiful people showed up to support the event. The auctions raked in some great monies for our police department.
The event was hosted by the Nesbitt Ranch and Estate on their polo grounds.

2016 Featured Marque - BMW (100 Year Anniversary)
Thank you to Michael Armand Hammer and the Armand Hammer Foundation for their continued support in 2016. The Peterson Museum will be bringing some rare beauties such as a 1939 Bugatti Type 57C.
The Montecito Motor Classic has gained great momentum in the last four years with more and more sponsors wanting to be involved with the show. Car clubs are enthusiastic about wanting to participate. Car applications are rolling in already and so much more activity surrounding the show. Sponsorships for 1st and 2nd place trophies are available.
HAMMER TIME FUELING STATION
The Hammer Time Fueling Station, located at the Bottle Shop, featured breakfast goodies and at lunch fantastic taco and burrito bar. Hammer Time Fueling Station served their signature (and potent) drink. There was prime seating for the awards ceremony.
In support of the Hammer Time Fueling Station was forty members of the Petersen Museum Checkered Club members participate in our car show event. That is a lot of support! They brought some beautiful cars to our event.

Kid's Model Car Designers Competition
The Young Model Car Designers competition was a huge success in 2016 and will continue to expand to include more youth next year. The model cars are getting better and better every year. Look how many kids participated this year. To recap, more participants, more car models and more fun for the kids. Great way to keep these kids off the street and give them direction!

IMPROVEMENTS IN 2016
To improve the quality of the show and it's participants, we made some awesome additions to the MMC 2016.

Lucky 1st Place Winners are invited to attend the Fun With The Force Event immediately following the conclusion of the car show. Additional tickets available for non-1st place winners $225 each. Purchase tickets here.
HAMMER TIME FUELING STATION
The Hammer Time Fueling Station, located at the Bottle Shop, will feature food, drinks and prime seating for the awards ceremony. Tickets are limited and available for $125 - purchase your ticket
Forty members of the Petersen Museum Checkered Club members participate in our car show event. That is a lot of support! We can't wait to see the nice chrome they bring!
IMPROVED WINNERS CIRCL AND RAISED STAGE
This year we raised the bar by expanding and raising the stage and added a beautiful backdrop. A checkered floor was provided to designate the winners circle. The winning cars got to drive onto the checkered floor to receive their trophies and have their photo taken for the media.

FEATURED ENTRIES 2016
This year without exception, we are featuring some of the best cars in the world built by the best of the best coach builders and Porsche. One of the rarest Porsches, only a few in the country, is the Porsche 959. Another beauty is the 1939 Bugatti 43/44 with a stunning swooping design. The list will be topped with the 1930 Deussenberg Model J, a crowd favorite!!!
